Good Deal?

A guy offered to sell me his 1980 F350 extended cab for $200. It is 2wd with a 460 and c6. It runs, but needs a rebuild really badly. The tranny is good as is the interior. The exterior is so-so. I thought about buying it and parting it out, simply because I hate to see our trucks go to the scrapyard. Anyone know if I could make the 200 bucks back?

I know a few offroad guys who wouldn't mind that 460 and 9" rear.

Are you sure it's a 460? To the best of my knowledge they didn't offer 460's in '80, '81, and '82.

Ya I know they didn't offer it then. The engine was swapped in from a mid-80s ambulance. And I believe the rear end is either a Sterling or Dana 70 since it is a dually. I am not quite sure though.

I bought a 85 F250 SC that was a California truck that came from the factory with a 460 C6 so yes they did offer it.

Piffery is right from what I remember the 460 was dropped due to the gas mileage of it then it was available again in 83
