I'm replacing the underhood wiring. There are two brown wires entering the engine compartment above the passenger footwell. One must be a turn signal or running light feed to the right indicator. What is the other one?
My wiring chart for this '72 shows only one brown wire for this purpose. There is a brown wire from the solenoid to the coil for 12V starting juice, but I would not think that this wire would go back into the cab, and be routed that far around.
The Camper Special appears to have a few extra wires and different colors than the ordinary '72 chart shows. Does anyone know a source for a more complete chart, perhaps in color?
The two browns are more than likely the left and right front parking light and will also feed a side marker(s) if you have them on the front.
Can't help you with the diagram.

That "brown" wire should be RED (it's prolly faded), it's the resistor wire.
1960/72: COLF12250A .. Resistor Wire-Ignition Switch to Coil (Motorcraft DY37)
61.50" long / Color coded Red / 1.30 to 1.40 ohms resistance / #20 gauge wire.
My "red" resistor wire comes out in front of the driver, but it is PINK, as marked on my wiring chart. You are right, the second brown wire is the coil 12V that goes back through the cab, and mates to the pink resistor wire on the other side of the engine compartment. Amazing what a couple of ohms in resistance will do to voltage!
Thanks for the specifications. I will replace it when the cab wires are replaced.

Dueling references...one Ford parts catalog sez PINK t'other sez RED for COLF-12250-A
Several ppl in the past said their wire was red, and since I haven't seen a new one of these resistor wires since grandma was a girl, I took their word for it.
All the info I typed inre to C0LF-12250-A pertains to the PINK wire.
