54 stock suspension trouble - help!

I'm a long-time Lurker, but rookie poster...

I have a 54 F100 with a stock front suspension (but '86 5.0L Mustang engine, tranny, and front brakes - Everything else is stock). All of a sudden I'm getting a 'random' clunk (or 2 or 3) in the front end/steering wheel, mostly when turning left, but not always. I think I've tried the basics to troubleshoot it, but well, my mechanic skills are FAR weaker than should ever be allowed for a guy that loves a 54 year old truck!

Have any of you seen any stock front suspension troubleshooting guides?

have you checked to see if your king pins are bad ?? jack it up and pickup or pry up on the tire . if it moves around you got a bad king pin . other than that hows the shocks ?? im sure you would've checked the obvious like the tie rod ends etc. a mbad king pin will wear the tire funny , clunk or pop , and make the steering feel off center , and loose .
