i have a 01 f150 screw and i changed the front breaks and rotors a month ago cause they were squealing not only when i was breaking but also when i was just driving around. after i changed them they were still squeaking. so just the other day i took the break pads and rotors back to get the warranty pads and rotors, put them on and still squealing. after the truck has sat over night the next morning it takes maybe 5 - 10 minutes of driving and they will start squealing all the time again so its almost like they have to get warm before they start making noise. any ideas?
Did you clean the rotors before you installed them?
Did you lubricate the metal to metal areas such as caliper slides?
Did the pads come with an anti-squeal shim and if not did you use a anti squeal chemical on the back of the pads?
Are you sure it's the brakes and nut the hub and bearing assembly?
yeah i did clean the rotors, i also lubricated everything, the shims are on the pads, i did not use an anti squeal chemical on the back, ive never heard of that on the back of the pads?????? the hub and bearing assembly is the next thing that i will have to look at i just dont wanna replace it if theres something im missing with the brakes.
