That looks good to me. I sometimes go higher then that, if it's hot outside.

Mine stay at 160* on the highway in 90* weather and a little higher around town. I have an aftermarket tranny cooler of some kind, it was on the truck when I bought it. Im thinking of upgrading to either a 6.0 cooler or a tru-cool. Will these lower my temps and which is better?

Driving with no load usually is not bad, but start towing in the summer, then an aftermarket cooler is a good idea. Lots of people go with the 6.0 cooler.

Comparing My Numbers To What Guys Are Getting With The 6.0 Cooler (this Is Just My Opinion) I Think The 6.0 At Todays Prices Is A Waste Of Money. The Tru-cool Is Just As Good And Easier To Install. If A Deal Is Found On One Thats One Thing, But The Price Difference Is Too Much To Overcome When They Both Cool Just As Good.
Temp Gauge = 155* (100+ Here Today) Towing Isnt Much Higher, Cept In The Mountains When Towing Then I Will Hit 160-165* . I Dont Think A 6.0 Cooler Will Perform Better Than That. Certainly Not Worth The Difference In Price.

Hey Gorge. You have great numbers there. I will hit 200-210 towing in the mountains. I think I will look at the Tru-Cool.

Its A Great And Easy Upgrade, The Most Extreme Reading I Had Was Coming Back From The Grand Canyon Last Summer. I Was At 175* Going Up A Grade In 117* Heat. It Wasnt Steep But It Was A Long Pull And We Were Going 75mph.

Did you put it inline with the stock cooler or replace the stock cooler??? I might order mine now as I just bought a 5th wheel and probably need it for pulling it in this New Mexico heat!

I did the trucooler becaude it was cheaper and easer to find then the 6 oh cooler. And it was a simple job also. I was amazed at how much temps droped when towing. Heading up the mantains on a hot day my highest temps were about 165. The trucooler is the best bang for the buck. Just my 02

I ordered the ISSPRO EV Gauge Kit from DieselManor Along with a Tru-Cool MAX transmission cooler with external cold weather thermal bypass from bulkpart transmission this afternoon!!! I can't wait to get them and install em! Now some DP tunes are on my B-Day list come September!!!!

Did you put it inline with the stock cooler or replace the stock cooler??? I read you can do it both ways.... THANKS!

I bought the Napa Ultra Cool which is the same thing as the Tru-Cool......and installed it in a series working with the stock cooler. It has definitely helped, although I'm not really thrilled with the hardware that came with it, had to change a few things, but I was still under $100 installed and lowered my temps significantly

It does look like you have a taller tire then I do, I have stocker 265s yet. That might make alittle differance. I also changed tranny fluid. I know you need to add about a quart extra. Plus did you run it in parallel with the stocker cooler? OR you could have a bad bypass if thats possable.

Jorge, I've got that lovely 6.0 cooler. I tow through the Mtns here in Washington. Camper and boat-10k between the two and see the same temps as you. I'm surprised if I break 165. I see the tru-cool and 6.0 cooler about the same.
