Exhaust manifold interchangeability.

I have a friend whose got a 84 f-250 351 2bbl, since he know nothing about automotive, I am here in his place.

The problems im/we're having is that his dad threw on a set of long tube headers, which 1) rub on the front driveshaft, and 2) the driver side header exits right in front of the t-case.

With the money he had to spare, after i got it running and tuned it up, we cobbled up some exhaust to replace the non-existant one.

I recently ran across a set of 351 manifolds off of a 78 pickup, will these work or will i have issues with firewall clearance or "Y" pipe design?

What kind of 351 are we talking about. You 84 could have a 351W and the 78 most likely has a 351M in which case the manifolds wont swap between them.

Didn't '78 have the 351 Cleveland, not Modified? My Australian '80 f-100 has the 351 Cleveland.

I dont know which motor either of them are, whats the easiest way to figure out whats in the truck?

351w has 6 bolts holding each valve cover on. The 351m has 8 bolts holding each valve cover on.

Austrailian engine selection is totally different than the US. The 351c was never offered in a truck in the US, unless you call a Ranchero a truck.
