This is a re-post from the Explorer group which got no answers. If anyone can help, it would be appreciated.
Anyone have chart or site where I can get info on the typical working pressures I should see in an AC system running R134 coolant. The system was previously converted from R-12.
Any help is appreciated.

Well, www.aircondition.com is not working as it used to. All that's left is the archives and a header page... Try http://www.ackits.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi for the aircondition site that got most of the aircondition.com kibitzers.
The rule of thumb for retrofitting R134a to a R12 system is 2.2 times ambient temperature for the Hi side. The other rule of thumb is to use approximately 80% of the original R12 charge by weight. The experts on the board say to charge with about 75%, and then, while monitoring outlet temp, at 1500RPM, max fan, both doors open, continue to add R134a a smidge at a time, allowing the temp to stabilize, until you get minimum outlet temp keeping the Hi side pressures within reason.
I think that web site has a pressure temperature chart also.
