Smallest compressor for DIY complete job
I'm in the process of body working and painting my 1993F150 Supercab and was wondering what the smallest compressor I canget away with cause I'm on a very limited budget. Also if the DevilBliss kits (Starting or finish line) kits are any good?I've only completed onere-paint job a long time ago(10 yrs.) It was done on a big box aluminum body truck and the owner didn't want the aluminum look so he asked me to paint it over with enamel. He chose a flesh color and didn't expect a good job.I told him I never painted a whole car before much less a gigantic truck that could fit a car inside it.But he
assured me that runs, orange peel, overspray etc. were okay, he just
wanted it colored instead of aluminum.Since he was my cousin I agreed
to do it and he got all equipment and supplies for the job.He bought a
compressor that was portable(horizontal type) and a cheap gun, along
with the paint and reducer. I don't remember the compressor size but
I remember spraying the whole box with a sealer of some sort so the
paint would stick. To my surprise, the paint job was run free, 0 orange
peel and no overspray or striping. The paint was smooth and glossy and my cousin so happy he got me a set of American Racing Wheels w/
off-road tires for my truck. He also wanted he and I go partners painting cars in our spare time.I just laughed him off and just wished
I'd remember how I did it.
I just want to know what's the bare minimum in air
compressor size in relation to gun options and accessories.Any help
will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Cal
