problem developed while pulling the camper home. It seems like under high vacuum conditions, the fuel pump can't keep up. When pulling hills, the engine starts to spit and sputter. Downhill seems fine. Several times I would pull over on a side road or parking lot, the truck would die and the clear inline fuel filter by the carb would be empty. I changed fuel hoses(on the road)and no change, so I don't think the lines are plugged. After cranking for a while on the side of the fuel would make it back to the carb. The engine coolant didn't show overtemp, but the truck did cool while changing hoses before trying to start again.
Another thing that makes me go back to fuel pump is the headers. It probly does get pretty hot. Anyone ever have a fuelpump go bad with headers? Almost like when the fourbarrels open, the fuelpump won't keep up.
