1993 E350 460 FI Class C
I've recently purchased the stated 26' Class C motorhome and am looking for more power for Colorado grades and altitude.
She doesn't do bad until you get to long grades (mile or more) or into higher altitudes (6000+).
I've found a post stating to improve the air intake with a K&N filter and possibly a different air box, to enlarge the exhaust, and to "chip it". Another has stated chipping it is a waste on these engines or engines for motorhome use. Just "long tube" headers and adjust the timing manually.
Has anyone out there improved their early 90's 460 in a motorhome use? Anyone know of the possibility of turbo installations or intermittant boost super chargers (if they exist)?
Secondly, if I looked at a diesel swap, what are the pro's and cons to the pre Power stroke and the Power stroke engines?
Thanks.
