Odometer Rolled Over

Thought I would share...

The family and I went on vacation up to Lavonia, GA. for the fourth. On our way my odometer rolled over, not sure how many times it's done it but I thought it was cool. We got 12mpg on 93 octain at a average speed of 58mph. Made the 233 mile trip in 4hrs. Truck ran smooth. Other then before leaving I noticed my lower radiator hose had a bulge in it. Which was changed. Don't like the thought of being broke on the side of the road . Always do your PMCS ( preventive maintenance checks and service ) before a trip. I saw so many of our trucks up there, it seemed like I seen one over every hilland in every condition.

That's cool! I was looking at the '73 in your gallery and I noticed you have an interesting dash panel setup - not to hijack your thread, but I notice your A\C controls and the stereo have swapped spots. Pretty cool; how'd you make that?

Thanks,

( cut and paste from another thread )

Well my truck started out with a dash that someone put a aftermarket a/c unit in, I still have the dash they cut up. If someone wants it, it's free and red. And gave the 50 pounds of A/C parts away to guy with a 65' falcon.

I went to my local Pull-A-Part. Got a color matching non A/C dash a bazel and extra heater control plate with extra hardware. All for 30 bucks

Old plate had to be tossed due to my first radio install job.

I cut the a hole in the bracket where the heater controls would go to fit the radio. Then had to cut a section out of the defrost vents, patched it with aluminium tape and is still holding. I had to attach the heater controls to the lower part where the radio went with some screws no cutting there if I remember correctly. ( just looked nope no cutting) Then made a plate out of some aluminum and painted it, attached it with silicone. Took me about a day to do and well worth it

Hope this helps out.

Hoyt
