elongated exhaust manafold
I removed this from my truck 95 f250 5.8.
The manafolds were leaking from both sides.
The exhaust system was supported from the back of the manafolds for some time because of broken hangers. There were 2 or 3 broken manafold bolts.( Previous owner)
I can not bolt the manafold back on the bolt holes do not line up. (same head)
I will be getting another manafold either junk yard or new.

I used two short 3/8"dia. bolts and a 1" long 3/8"dia. nut (a long treaded collar), I screwed a bolt half way into the collar from both ends and put the thing "tool" between the center flange and the front cylinder flange of the manifold. Then I unscrewed the two bolts while holding the collar forcing the two parts of the manifold apart until the bolts lined up and I could get them in. I had all the other bolts started before I started forcing it apart. Once I had the bolts in and snug I removed the "tool" and tightened all the bolts.
The manifold is still on the truck to this day and does not leak one bit, no machining was done. Like yours it leaked when I took it off and all the bolts where rotted away. The bolt holes for that one cylinder with the other bolts in where off by the width of the bolt when I started. The tool I made pushed it apart a good 5/16" or more to allow me to get the bolts in.
If yours is to long? maybe a pipe clamp of the right size?
The manifold was fine in every other way, I'm cheap and wouldn't replace it for that, it was fairly easy to get it back on the way I did it and didn't take long. A cracked one would be another story!
Oh and the "tool" i made to jack it apart was bent up and mushroomed, basically toast when I was done but it got the job done. Cheap hardware anyway.
