8.8" axle question
I used to own a 1987 mustang gt. I know it had the 8.8" axle under it. I also currently own a 1986 F-150 also with the 8.8". My questions are: Is there any differences in the differential features? And how can I eliminate the "one tire fire" I am experiencing with my truck?
My goal is to eventually rebuild it and change the ratio to a 3.73. I've never done anything except change the lube in it. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

You can put a limited slip unit in - Detroit Truetrac for example or any other traction aiding devices.

Lock Rights
The truck 8.8s have a 31 spline axles.
Mustangs have 28.
BTW FORD doesn't have "POSIs", if anyone asks you!
