Running rough at first
Hey guys, I just bought a 03 6.0 and find that after I start it up and start driving down the highway, the engine feels rough. Almost like it is misfiring. After 30 minutes the engine is smooth. No smoke from the exhaust at startup, no warning lights, normal oil pressure. Could this be the PCM or could one of the glow plugs be faulted. I wanted to get some ideas prior to taking it in for service.

Troy did you put fresh oil in when you got the truck?It can't be stressed enough how important fresh oil and filters to a happy 6.0l. Find bismic in this forum and get a copy of his homework, most all the info that you will need to keep your truck running and healthy is in there. Welcome to FTE.

That's what I would say too. I've had the same issue before. Listen to the clicking noise, when you turn the ignition on. It should be really fast. If you "almost can count" how many clicking you hear, you probably have to replace some of them. It solved my problem.
