There was a young fellow in the West side of Saskatoon had(has?) a black Ford Ranger Dually. Wheel adapters and fender flares. Some atrocity of a front porch/bumper.. It was (not) great!
that bites!
All new exhaust with Dynomax Mufflers and an X pipe with all 4 cats now gone Sherm. Now they can bring on their famous City of Saskatoon police service spring safety spot checks!

Did you have to put O2 foolers/MIL eliminators when you removed the cats or is that car just before all that emissions garbage? I prefer an off road "H" pipe over the "X" pipe, just a personal preference. The "H" seems to give a deeper, looser sound, while the "X" is a tighter slightly higher pitch tone. Both sound sweet. Mufflers will play a big part in the end sound too. Can't wait to see and hear that car!!
Good day folks, it`s beautiful here and we`re off to a wedding today.

The original sensors were put back in, should they have been replaced with the O2 foolers/MIL eliminators?
Unless your car can be programmed to ignore the O2 sensors via a tuner, you might need MIL Eliminators Mustang Plug-in MIL Eliminators at AmericanMuscle.com - Free Shipping!. I'm not sure if the ones in the link would work on your '86 as they say 96-04, but there are ones you can buy that are wire-in instead of plug in. What it does it change the reading of the O2 sensor to a normal reading after you've taken the cats off. Without these, its quite likely you will get a check engine light as the O2 sensors will be reading a much richer exhaust than its programmed to allow. You can drive with the check engine light on, it won't hurt anything on a vehicle of that era, but if something else were to happen, you might miss it because the check engine light has always been on... I like to err on the side of caution and do things right.
Thanks Sherm.
The original 02 sensors were reinstalled so I`m good to go. The 86`s had a different computer management system than my 88 GTand in 89 Ford again went to a different set up yet so I`m very limited in making any changes like with the later ones. Performance modifying to any great extent isn`t in my immediate plans, just to fix the AOD and afew minor things than let the horses run and enjoy driving it this summer.
Finally warming up in the Southeast enough to off the extra layers.
Ford related pic for the FTE imaginary friends. Just under 31,000km and something is wrong with this Ecoboost. It doesn't seem to pickup as well as I found they did before and it sounds funny under boost. More like swoosh swoosh swoosh than just one woosh. No check engine light anymore but there used to be one. Good thing I don't own it!
In this muddy situation all I had to do was drive to the front of the rut, brake, put in reverse, and back out. By the time the truck would apply any power to the wheels it had already rolled back down into the bottom of the rut. Annoying. It took a good hard application of the brake, shift into reverse.. wait... torque it up and then let off the brakes I did hold the traction control button for a long time to turn off whatever I could. They are still very limited. I like like my older trucks!
Skzuk, that looks like the condition my F250 was in this afternoon. Tried to get a dump trailer out of a back alley from a building site. I couldn't even get to the trailer. A lot of rocking later, I got out. I was up to my axles, very near to being bellied up. I HATE these new trucks and their traction control systems. Even with them turned completely off they still seem to interfere with WOT spinning, which is what you need sometimes...
Yeah I was trying to hook up to the trailer there. I did manage to get hooked up to the trailer, but then I got stuck. Torque management and traction control are things I could do without. Torque management = my brain. Traction control = tires, locking differentials in a perfect world!
