Throttle Postioning Sensor 7.5 EFI

I had our 1988 F-350 diagnosed at a Ford Dealership and they told me the Throttle Positioning Sensor was bad and was the reason it was idling at a high RPM. So i had some used parts laying around and thought this other sensor would work. Unfortuneatly I had to break the original one off to get the screws out off the throttle body. Now the motor cranks and does not start,I used some either and no luck. I have a new sensor ordered but it will not be in for a couple days.
Any comments/info will be greatly appreciated!
