Hi..this is my first post so please bear with me.I have an '84 F-150 with factory air.I recently replaced my low pressure cut off switch due to it dying.This led me to check the rest of the system.My low side reads between 37-40 and the high around 235 with 90 degree days.This is with R-12 and produces vent temps between 38 and 42 degrees after ten or so minutes.The problem is my low pressure lines freeze over when in traffic. Airflow never stops or seems weak. This also happenned before changing the switch.My question is am I low on freon or could I have moisture in the lines.I also just added an extra "pusher" fan in front of the condensor.Sorry for the long post.Thanks for any info.

I have seen lots of different systems frost up on the low side hoses. As long as the temp remains cold and the evaporator isn't freezing up I never give it a second thought. Your pressure readings sound normal.

You could also have inadequate air flow across the evaporator. I have seen these evaporators get really plugged up with debris that sneaks past that screen in your cowl fresh air intake.
