Need an engine
Anybody near Delaware got or know of a good used 3.0?
Mine took a dive and I need to find another to get my van back on the road.
Don't care what year or what it came out of, they all are the same block and head wise.
The lower the miles {And Price} the better.

not all ford 3L OHV engines are the same.

changing engine with newer, espeially from FWD car requires to swap some parts as TB, air intake, alternator, PS pump, belts.... work for more then one day. I did. I know. All 3.0 are interchangable, exept may be SHO...

My junkyard "fix" of another crank did not hold. Think I lost a rod. Last sounds were "knock, knock,knock,knock,knock,BANG. and then she would not turn over.
96_4wdr Is correct. I looked at some engines on ebay, and it looks like after 95 or 96 the block changed and they went to dual over head cams.
Money is really tight, thats why I am trying to go used.

Ford built and used the 3L OHV in some models up to 2005 or so.
3Ls are popular in Rangers
should be lots of older Rangers in your area.
the Ranger 3L got roller lifters and cam in 92, good engines
stick with your intake manifold and sensors or you will have to change your PCM engine computer.
the newer heads or cams won't work well with your PCM or pass emissions
Taurus 3Ls overheat the back head and cyl.s from lack of air flow
