changing engine with newer, espeially from FWD car requires to swap some parts as TB, air intake, alternator, PS pump, belts.... work for more then one day. I did. I know. All 3.0 are interchangable, exept may be SHO...

the Ranger 3L got roller lifters and cam in 92, good engines
stick with your intake manifold and sensors or you will have to change your PCM engine computer.
the newer heads or cams won't work well with your PCM or pass emissions
