Score!

I drug this box home from an ol boy that wasn't going to use. Just wanted a case of budlite. So I dropped two cases by his house and loaded this box up. The left side is just as good of shape, but has a small wrinkle on the bottom edge at the very front, very easy fix. Everyone comes across a good deal every now and then, and its interesting to see how someone can get a certain piece for XXX.00 amount. Figured if you made a good score, post it up here.

I think I got a pretty good deal on my truck. the PO had restored most of it. had $5-6000 invested in it. now I got it for $2900......oh wait my dad paid for it so actually I got it for free!!!!

my grandpa most of the time gives me a bunch of tools so I guess that's good, too, right?

77hiboyboy, minor surface rust, looks great!!!

I guess free is considered a good deal!

Factory AC and powersteering. The brakes need lots of love, but work. It was amazing cause it had been sitting for 2 years and once I checked all the fluids it fired up without even charging the battery!
So far the most expensive thing was the 40$ steering wheel. I spent 4 bucks on a can of wimbleton(sp?) white paint for the door panels and they look like new. I pulled out the dash as well as the AC vents and re-sprayed them black then painted all the silver by hand.
The motor is still not running "right", I think its the carb, but I'm gonna go 4bbl with it I believe. I've gotta go through the top end of the motor and put a new set of head gaskets in, however it is said to only have 30k on the motor.

Hey thanks guys, and nope neither of my Fords is blue, BUT the motor in the 67 is Old Ford Blue. The 73's should be ford blue, but is black.

Yeah I still have a hard time believing it was free. But she needs some work. As I said the headgaskets are blown, not so much as it dosen't run, actually it runs quite well, but its blows a little water occasionally. Also the passenger door got backed into by the PO. It could also use a tailgate, as that is where most of the rust is, the other rust is in the rear cab wall, other that that it is a very solid truck.
If you go here: My Public Shoebox pictures from friends & fun photos on webshots There are more pics showing the door and some shots of it when I dragged it home.

Thanks again for the comments.

Old Ford Blue, painting those door panels and that steering wheel really dressed up that interior.

Some recent deals that I have found:

Sport steering wheel: $10 - I just found a mint blue oval for the center piece, had it re-dyed and polished up like new.

78/79 HP Kingpin D60 with Warn hubs: $100

67/72 Green metal door panels - $10

I hit all of the local junk yards at least once a week and find killer deals almost daily.
