Ignition switch replacement?
So i've done a little looking back at old threads and I can't find anything that talks about my issue. It has happened to me twice now and I'm 99% sure it is the ignition switch. I shut the truck off and go in to the store. Come back out and nothing. No click, no whine, nothing. The funny thing is the stereo and lights and everything still work fine. I replaced the starter with a new one, (not reman) last week. And it just happened again today. I had the battery tested and it's in great shape. All the connections are good, so I'm not sure what else it could be. Any body have any ideas?

Have you tried shifting into nuetral when it won't start to see if that makes a difference? You can also try holding the gear shift farther up into park to see if that helps. The NSS or a loose gear selector lever could easily cause this problem.

The first time it happened I did try shifting into neutral and it didn't do anything, I also tried wiggling the shifter a bit and pushing it up or down in the park position and nothing. I just replaced the switch. Took about three minutes and cost $40 at the stealership (who I have been rather impressed with). If this doesn't fix where is the nss located? Same place? Is it as easy as the ignition switch to replace or fix? Thanks again guys. I love this site.
