Rear window weatherstripping

I am in need of a rear window rubber gasket with the groove for the chrome trim piece for a 75 F250 Ranger. I did some research on here and found that the 80's were a better fit in the leak prone corners. My question is can I buy the 80's rear glass weatherstrip with groove or do I have to stick with the 75 weatherstripping because of the trim sizes between the years are different? I want to buy the right one the first time, thanks.

I know that Dennis-Carpenter.com sells a-lot of that type of weather stripping, you might try them. I have never looked at NPD to see what they carry. On the 80's stuff i am not sure, i have never tried it myself.

Several places have them... The 1's that I can think of @ the moment are LMC, JC Whitney... Most auto glass places can get them. The "Yellow Pages" may be help.

So, the 80's era with the groove should be the same size groove for my 75's trim? That's what I need to know. I forget which one I looked at, either JC Whitney or LMC, but they had a choice in there between 2 different molding types and it got me to thinking that maybe I should check on here to see which one is the right one.
Were there 2 different moldings which required 2 different groove sizes, like one is fat and the other being narrower?

No, They are not the same unfortunately.

1973-1976 rear window molding is wide aluminum, and the groove in the seal is different to accept this wide aluminum trim. The trim covers most of the rubber seal.

1977-1996 has a larger groove to accept the flexible plastic "Chrome" piece.

The standard Window Rubber "No Groove" fits 1973-1996 however.

Thanks for the info, I guess I'll go ahead and get the 70's stuff because I would like to keep the trim around the window. I appreciate it everybody!

I used NPD on my 76. I was happy with it. You might also contact Metro Moulded rubber parts. I would suggest you talk with the tech people with whoever you choose. They usually have a pretty good handle on the type of question that you are asking.
