starting Problems

1990 F-250 7.3 4x2

I have been trying to get my truck working correctly. The truck will turn over but will not start. I was told that it is the glow plug controller. I checked the volts and I have nothing. The wait to start light never comes on. So I usually just let it site their for a few min and then try to start. Am I heading down the right track? If I hit the truck with some starting fluid, she starts right up and runs great. I drove around for about a half hour, shut the truck off and a few min later I came out and tried to start it, the truck fired right up no problems.

It sounds like the glow plug system. I had this problem with my truck when I first got mine.

First I would say check this picture and make sure it is wired right. https://www.ford-trucks.com/user_gal...120458&width=0

Yeah it does sound like the glowplug system isnt functioning properly. I bought my truck in the summer and it started up right away everytime. As soon as winter came it took about 3 cranks to get it to start. 8 glowplugs later and she fires up instantly.
