removing A/C Box
I've got a 78 F-250 with A/C that doesn't work. The motor is a 460 so everytime i want to do something on the back of the right bank i have to go up under the finder (very frustrating). So i was wondering what it would take to get rid of the massive A/C box. One person told me just to change the heater core and it could go and another told me i needed to take out teh whole componet under dash (everything from the vent to the controls). So anyone who knows anything about this i would appricate your input. Thx in Advance

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 29-Nov-02 AT 07:47 AM (EST)]I am going to do the same thing. Air is nice but being able to work on the engine and see what I am doing would be worth doing away with the box. It doesn't work anyway. Meangreen have you changed yours yet? If so how hard is it to do?

I removed the A/C from my 1984 Bronco XLT it didn't work when I got the truck and I didn't want to go through the hassle of trying to get it to work. So I removed the A/C box from under the hood and I Hacksawed off the A/C condensor portion 
I then re-attached the blower part and for now I connected the blower to the firewall with clothes dryer 4" duct hose. My father and I are making a nice fiberglass duct that will connect up and look good
