Bad Diesel??

I got about 50 gallons of free diesel fuel. From a friends semi company that went south and it was left over in a holding tank or something. He said its been sitting for a pretty long time but not sure how long. Should i add alot of diesel kleen or some additive since its been sitting so long of is it ok to run? Thanks.

I would be very hesitant about running this FREE diesel fuel. It could turn out to be the highest price fuel you ever put in your tank.

I would not worry about month old fuel unless its contaminated.
When school starts back up every August we burn 3 month old fuel for the first week or so and its that rotten dyed "off road" stuff

A month old isn't THAT old. Use it and grin. Even if it is in an above ground tank it should be Ok but when you get to the bottom of the barrel is where the problem might be as sediment collects from years of use and it can't be helped. If you pump it out use a fuel filter on the hose to catch the contaminates. I use one on my below ground tank from TSC and it also catches water.
