If it's stock, it would be a full size Olds with the 455. Mid size Cutlass came out with the 455 in '70.

Yes it is a 4 door Delta 98, but the motor/tranny is finding a new home soon, maybe a 56 Ford if I convince dad

Ford sold Land Rover & Jaguar to Tata Motors, India's largest automaker.

Ford sold Aston-Martin to private investors in the UK.

Ford has Volvo up for sale, but IMO, will never sell its share of Mazda (Ford owns around 45%). Ford has too many vehicles tied to the Mazda's body platform.

I've been studying the history of the automobile for over 55 years. My family owned an Olds dealership for over 60 years, and also sold Cadillac, Mercedes-Benz and Citroen.

I''ve owned 12 Oldsmobiles..all were unmolested factory original cars. A 1948 98 Sedan, 1950 Deluxe: Coupe, Convertible, Fastback (Sedanet), and a Station Wagon.

1954 88 HT (first Olds I owned, bought off a cheap used car lot in 1961 for a C note), and a 1954 98 HT. 1955 Super 88 HT, 1960 Super 88 HT, 1962 Starfire HT, 1968 Delta 88 HT w/a 455. It had only 40K miles on it when I sold it recently.

The newest Olds I've owned was a 2000 Intrigue (bought in 2001 for $10 grand as a daily driver). It is the same car under the skin as a: 1997 Buick Regal, 2007 Buick LaCrosse, Pontiac Grand Prix. All use the same body structure.

Look at the roofline of a 1997 Regal and a 2007 LaCrosse...same-o same-o.

Most of the outer skin and dash has been changed, but underneath a 2007 LaCrosse, or a 2000 Intrigue is nothing more than a 1997 Regal, the first GM car to use this body.

I've made mention of the following on FTE several times, but here it is again.

What is the original name of the Cadillac Motor Car Company, the oldest US automaker (still extant), founded in Detroit in 1902?

Did you say Ford Motor Company?

Right-o.

If I were buying a car today I would buy an import - I would not even go to the domestic lots to look. It would be a decision based on dollars and cents (or sense??). They have less problems and thus have a higher resale value based on that - is a no brainer for me!

Ford owns 45 percent of mazda? Last I heard it was around 30 percent?

It sucks they had to sell off some of the other good ones, but thats business I guess.

Dustin, ya gotta try driving some different imports, and domestics sometime. That gives ya a real feel for which ones might be better or worse.

And, statistics and facts are pretty hard evidence haha, opinions are exactly that

Ford originally bought 33% of Mazda, increasing their ownership to 45% in recent years.

Good ones? What good ones?

Despite all the mechanical and styling upgrades, Jaguar never made a cent for profit for Ford Motor Company.

In fact, estimates are that Ford lost over 20 BILLION dollars on Jaguar alone.

Land Rover under Ford ownership made a profit exactly one year.

Say Dustin, what do you think about the "Axis Powers" Rangers and Bronco II's?

Axis Powers: The engines are German, the 5 speed transmission is Japanese (either from Mazda or Mitsubishi).

Well i know Jag and Land rover didnt do very well in N/A with ford, but they did do pretty good overseas (from what I understand).

Jaguar is a high class luxary car, i have no idea that, with the right consumer, it wouldnt have made money.

Since I`ve been satified with most of the Fords I`ve had from Rangers to L8000`s to Mustangs, Fairmonts, Lincolns, Grande Marquis, Crown Vics, I have no reason to switch either and no, I won`t drive a statistic......
Remember, different strokes for different folks and in the end it`s what ever floats my boat that gets my consumer dollar.

Whatever floats my boat is the best on the market, not just anything that one company produces

Statistics speak louder and tougher then any opinions.

I can have the opinion that my 7.3 liter will whoop the hell out of a new chipped out 6.4, but that dont make it accurate

Theres a reason some honda and toyota cars are higher priced cars, and sell more. They are simply better cars.
