Hi, New here.
41,000 Kms original, 7.3 lt natural e4od tran, 12,000 lb. Ramsey winch and bumper package on front, huge alternator, zero start fuel heater.
Very clean and well kept except for crunchs on roof from big combat boots adjusting antenaes on roof.
Manual is in french, any tips on use of OD for tranny?
Going to put in full set of gauges as factory on cluster suck.
In my '90 7.3 w/E40D, the manual stated that you could tow in OD. Ford changed that recommendation several times over the years. Turn off the OD when towing up grades, or when it starts hunting between OD and Direct. The E40D benefits from regular maintenance.
Good luck

I agree with c.f.moore... when towing, only lock O/D off (by pressing the O/D off button on the end of the shift lever) if the trans starts to shift between drive and overdrive repeatedly. Otherwise, let it pick the gear on its own. You can always lock it off and force it to stay in drive if you want, even if it's not hunting, just to get some higher RPMs (and probably slightly lower EGTs, had it been lugging a bit in O/D).
And as madjak mentioned, be sure to check out the 7.3L PSD section, too.
