I don't let anyone drive my truck. The last time i did (years ago) the truck came back with major tailgate damage.
Didnt think of that one Jim,

My dad gets to drive my truck because his names on the tittles and hes been driving trucks for a while, hes got a lisence to drive everything from a motorcycle to hauling fuel tankers. My mechanic only gets to drive it because hes got to test drive it. my ex drove it once but thats because I was wayy to drunk and knocked a kid out....

I drive a crew cab long bed also. Put me in anything shorter and I cant park it LOL I am too used to driving my mini semi that anything else is just weird to me.

You are right about women but it is most women cant drive not all women. Most of the drivers that **** me off are women.

I was driving my moms suburban while i was getting my tran installed, and i COULD NOT back that thing up, it took me forever beacuse I was so used to my truck.

Most people just dont have any patience or know what its like to be cut off while you have 10,000 lbs behind you....I used to ride with my dad while he was driving trucks so I just grew up knowing how many @$$ holes there are out there.

What's with the lack of street markings in that city?

It's like, "If you don't know where you are, or where you want to go, you don't need to get there, 'cause we're sure not gonna' give you a clue to help you find it!"

Yeah I do, but there's that dang money thing...
Small world seeing the OR SAWS rep on here- I'm a member of that fine club. All the emails I get come from Susie.. must be your wife? My sled (03 Vertical Escape 800/159") sat most of the winter unfortunately. Seeing as I'm up at an ungodly hour and can't sleep, now might be a good time to send some of those letters in response to the recent notices you've sent out

Anyways, with no where to really park, and me needing to run to the store for a few things, I told Scott that I would just take his truck- since it was parked in a place with easier access to the main road than my car was. I didn't think this was a big deal, especially since I have driven his beloved truck many times before. I was about to turn away and head for the truck when I saw a "worried" look in his eyes. I said "what"? And then I realized.. yes, that little "light bulb" above my head started shining bright... Just days before he had installed his brand new DP Tuner in his truck... His words to me: "But... you have never driven a truck with a DP Tuner in it"... "I don't want you getting PMS like Brandi" (JDDecker's wife) Like I said before, I initially didn't think of this as a big deal. But NOW ... after Scott's reaction, I can't WAIT to drive the truck! Maybe when he is sleeping... I can grab the keys oh so quietly.... and test that DP Tuner out for myself... I will let you know how it goes when this mission is complete!
Be really sneaky. Get some help from other wives, and push it down the block so he won't hear it when it starts.
Seriously now, be sure to start it in stock setting and warm it up for a few miles before shifting into a DP tuner setting. You'll see why if you shift into 80 economy while accelerating just a little. That sucker will let you know its ready to rumble.

Well... I taught my oldest to drive by using my truck, and have even let him and my oldest daughter take it for a 3.5 hour road trip (each way) to see my folks. Works out OK because while he's driving my truck, I'm using his Jetta TDI on business trips and stacking up the reimbursement dollars in my maintenance/mod account.

Now I also am in the situation of teaching my oldest daughter to drive in the same truck. Right now we're in the parking lot... only EMPTY ones, too. I'm thinking we may be there for some time before getting out on the roads where other vehicles are driving.

My oldest daughter won't touch my truck. She's afraid to drive it. Now my 14 year old daughter, that's another story. She loves to drive the truck or anything else with a motor for that matter. I let her pull the truck out of the driveway and go park it down the road whenever I mow. She gets to pull it back when I'm done. She wants to drive it when we are at the boat ramp but I don't think so. Not yet. Probably never.

The first thing any of my kids learned to drive was a standard. Two girls and one boy. I wanted to make sure if either girl was on a date and the guy had a standard, and drank too much, they could get themselves back home. Most young boys start with a standard, because they are cheaper.

Damn Jason, you pick up on everything. And it is not a standard either.

He does like my truck. I guess I should stop trying to make up excuses.
