heater core

How hard is it to chage the heater core on my 93 Ranger with the 4.0 and A/C? Any step by step directions?
My antifreeze smell was the heater core. Drove it for a week and finally the carpet got damp on the passenger floor.

Disconnect the heater hoses from the heater core tubes.

below the glove box, to the left, remove the four screws from the heater core access cover and remove the cover.

pull the heater core rearward and down to remove it.

reverse to assemble.

whole process should take about a half hour.

Not in my experience! I had to take the whole dash out of mine. Not to tear down a post or anything but go get a Haynes Manual and it will give you a step by step.
