Hello I have a 2000 Ford F250 and need some help.
When I was driving today going slow when I braked the truck pulled to the right and made a noise then after going a little more i braked and the truck pulled to the left and made a noise.
If anyone can help with this problem It would be appreciated.
Sounds like you have a caliper starting to lock up. Sometimes it's locking closed and sometimes locking open (pushing fluid to the opposite caliper). Replace both at the same time. I bought mine from Autozone and they were rebuilt Ford parts. Not had any trouble with them in 2 months now. Fairly easy to do. It'll take 45 minutes for the first one and 20 minutes for the second one (after you see what to do). They were about $62.00 per side plus the core. My pads were almost new looking, so I kept them. I only put about 4K a year on the truck, and I think they just sat there and started siezing up.
What is your previous experience with repairing brake systems. That will give us some idea of where to start.
If you've never been into a brake system, I don't recommend doing a complete caliper replacement yourself. There are too many things that you could get wrong, and your brake system isn't the place to begin practicing.
If you're an old hand at brakes, you likely wouldn't have framed your question as you did.
At any rate, there are improved caliper slide pins available for your truck, and if a pin is beginning to seize, that could cause what you're experiencing.
If you don't understand this article, every step of the way, please have an experienced, qualified person look at this for you instead of attempting to do-it-yourself.
