Door Ajar Light

2003 EXCURSION My Door Ajar Light Stays On Occassionally And I Think It Has To Do With The Liftgate. I Know The Switch Is Built Into The Latch On The Left Side, But The Wiring Diagram Indicates A Left And Right Liftgate Switch. Does Anyone Know Where The Right One Is? (i Am Thinking It Is In The Right Swing Door) Can It Be Bypassed By Jumping The Swith? If I Disconnect The Plug Will That Eliminate My Problem Or Do I Have To Connect A Wire To Close The Circuit?

Check the site. Lot's of folks had same problem. Me included! Mine was rear door, driver's side.

Lubricate the latch in the door with WD-40, or your choice, and open and close firmly several times. Clears it right up!

Good luck, and welcome to FTE!!!!

Mine was the latches on the sides of the hatch. Soak it with wd-40 a few times and it cleared right up. Good luck.

on my 04 there are switches on both sides of the liftgate(rear hatch latches) and none in the barn doors....if you pull the trim off the inside of the liftgate you'll see it all..i had the same problem and WD-40 worked for me too..
