Sweet Tomatos

Liz brought in my first tomato - hers have been producing for a couple of weeks, but mine are coming on strong! I killed my first and second crops, but the third planting is the charm.

She is now off showing my tomato to all the neighbors! I might enter it in the county fair!

I still need to find an Englishman to tell me why my cucumbers make lots of flowers but never set fruit - and also I need to register my summer squash. I bet I have the only variety that makes flowers but no squash. I thought anybody could grow squash!

Please enjoy the pictures of my summer project - if you want I will send you a bushel of them!

I switched to the aerogarden. I only use it to grow cooking herbs, but I could grow grapes. Oops, I mean cherry tomatoes.

I think that it is a pretty nifty contraption. It is nice to have parsley, basil, mint, and stuff available any time I want.

I wanted one of those - but we got an inside cat that would put a cow to shame when it comes to eating the greenery. She has learned to leave my cactus alone - but it took several trys before she gave up.

She will even eat the husk off ear corn left out on the counter!

Lack of bees? The 'male' flower needs to pollinate the 'female' flower. You need to gather some of the 'male' seed and dust the 'female' flowers with them. Usually bees do this---and sometimes wind will do it. But that's the usual diagnosis......no pollination.

***Squash need lovin' too!***

You gonna make a 'mater sandwich with that little fella in the picture?.....

I don't know about polinating, we always just bought a plant, put it in a barrel added water and Miracle Grow and later on had tomatos?

Clint, about 200-300 more of those and you and Liz can have a Salad
