1994 F350 crew cab srw 7.3 idi factory turbo 5 spd 253,000 miles
Had the slave cylinder replaced last year. Never had any problems with this truck until that. Lately, (always start out in 2nd) hard to shift to either 2nd or reverse upon startup (talking both hands and 230 lbs hard). Usually easy to shift to other gears once rolling but not as smooth as it once was. I recently found that if I start and let it idle for a minute it shifts into 2nd or reverse pretty easily. What to look at first??
Could also be shift forks. Sounds like that to me. Is there any difference in force between shifting with the truck on or off, both cold and warmed up.
update: bought a clutch master cylinder to replace current one, hope that is it. Found that if I pump the clutch pedal several times while at a stop, it shifts smoother into reverse or 2nd. Let ya know if that was it.
