I'm planning my system install in my truck ('90 extra cab) and am trying to figure out the best way and location to get the power wire through the firewall. I'm using 4G wire. I'm using a distribution block with 10G going to the amps. Also what's the best option for the amp ground? Any ideas guys?
Thanks
Hey Herbie
Im one that likes things clean almost to a fault, so I would try to keep as much of your install wiring close to where the factory wiring runs through the fire wall and loom it under the hood to protect it and make it blend in better. As for a ground ,I like to duplicate the power wires right back to battery using black wire of course but match another fuse/distribution block to the power side. On a small system I wouldn't go to all this trouble but if you are running 4 gauge it's probably not a real small system.

For my system I simply pulled the rubber plug in the firewall on passenger side under floormat (just peel back floor cover and you'll see a black rubber plug, yank it) instant hole, with the floormats to cover your wire's tracks directly underneath the front seats for amp placement

I didn't see that you wanted to find a ground spot too, I used the big ##### bolt that holds the rear trim panel to the bottom of the truck to mount the ground wire (I ran 8 gauge for my system, plenty for 1200 watts of power, 800 RMS)
