I have a good running 1985 351 HO 4 bbl engine from an 85 F150 4X4 that I`d like to swap into my 69 F100/302. The 302 is getting tired but is fairly decent for gas mileage. I`m getting in the mid/upper teens now and I`m happy with that. If I swap the 351 in I think my fuel mileage is going to go totally down hill.
I`m wondering how bad my mileage will really get, 10-12 mpg, possibly
better/worse?
I was getting 6-7 from my 351HO/C6/NP208F setup. Although, I almost think there had to be something wrong with it. Previous owner wasn't exactly altogether there.
Thanks for the replies.
A second option is that I have about a Lincoln with a 5.0/aod which would be alot better for mileage even when converted to a carb. The power train is ok and the body is abit rusty.
