Howdy, I have posted a couple of times with problems with a 2003 6.0 F350.
It was idling very roughly. Sometimes the motor would hiccup and then surge while stopped. I had to keep firm pressure on the brakes at lights and ssigns just in case. A couple of times, I would be idling while moving slowly and the motor would quit completely. Sometimes when the light turned green I would get off the brake and hit the gas and get no response. No motor revving at all. I would put the pedal all the way down and wait and after a few seconds, the motor would start to rev up. Then I could get off the gas and let it accelerate gradually. I thought it might be fuel filters and replaced them several times. No luck. Then I thought it might be a bad fuel pump but it checked out OK. Finally, after a couple of unsuccessful trips to my local shop (who I have had good luck with before) I took it to the Ford dealer. The first time they had it, they did a flash and said that would fix it. It didn't. The next time I took it in and they replaced the ISP sensor and harness. Apparently the sensor shorted out and when it did it cracked the harness. I'm not a mechanic but I know that the truck has never run better. It has been about a month and it seems to have been a complete fix. Just a suggestion for something to have checked out if you have idling/hesitation problems.
i think you mean icp sensor. this has been a known issue for the 03 years. i have done many of the icp repairs. the funny thing, is almost every time, the truck had a new unseen sympton that was due to the sensor shorting out.
I had a 67 Mustang that would do the same dang thing. I put off rebuilding that carb. for tooo long. didn't have time then one day it wouldn't run period. Then I found time to rebuild the Holly and it ran untill I sold it. Wish I had that one back, Famous quote from George Strait. Sorry, to hijack the thread. bye
