Console Went Out

Last night driving home, my overhead console went out and has not come back. Any ideas on where to begin looking. I haven't had time to look if there is a separate fuse for it, but didn't think so since it varied with the interior lights when it worked.

It usually is a resistor in the circuit board. If you do a search on it, the fix will be on here.

Anyone have a link that says what the reps do? I have been adding to the reputations a number of times, but not sure what it does, long term. I have been using them as a thank you, which I think is a good reason.

I just did that fix to mine and it was very easy. Mine had two of the resistors that came lose and I was lucky that they were still just hanging on.

See the green tic tac how many of those that you have is determined by rep. points. A lot of us use them as a thank you also. I make it a point to pm anyone who has repped me to thank them....that's just how i was brought up

Took the console out and the resistors were fine. Plugged it back in and it worked. Cleaned the contacts since that was probably the culprit.

well the thing is , that there might be a bad connection on one of the resistors and thats wats causing it to go in and out, and this is the reason that those resistors burn out. this is common problem with SMD which is surface mount electronics. i sugest if you have soldering iron and solder, braze them over and redo all connections on that board.
