I have an 89 F150 XLT Lariat SB standard cab with the factory stereo. I am getting ready to install an in dash cd player and need to upgrade the speakers. I do not have rear speakers and when I turn the fader to rear, there is no sound. Are there 2 sets of speakers in the doors? Also, what size are the factory speakers? I bought the truck recently and believe the factory stuff was put back in prior to them selling it. Thanks for info.
The door speakers should be 6.5"...just like my '88 F150. The rear speakers would have been in the rear corners of the cab, and, you would have a mesh looking grille indicating the placement of the speaker if you had rear speakers as an option.
