New plan,...

Guys, I've been racking my brain the last few weeks with engine/tranny swap ideas and now I'm going with this....

Here's what I drive,
86 4x2 F150 300I-6 3 spd OD, shortbed/flareside

Here's what I'm doing.

A 93mustang 331 stroker EFI with the T5 from the same car. I'm going to order a harness from Painless wiring and it should be a fairly easy swap, for the engine at least.
The tranny though, - I already know the shifter will sit right in front of the seating area and I'm cool with that. The stock shifter sat a bit too far for my tastes, and the truck has custom buckets with a removeable third middleseat. What about the shifter stick? Where can I get one?
The tranny mount looks almost identical to the stangs and the T5 tranny case is 24.7" whereas my 3 spd OD tranny is 24.2". Will I just need a new yoke? the driveshaft should be the same, no? Also, would the mustang 10" clutch bolt to an 86 era 302 164tooth flywheel?

The other hurdle is the hydraulic clutch. i prefer the cable driven setup from the mustang so can I just convert the truck to use this cable? it would mount the same as the mustang-at the firewall-I just need to figure how to mount the cable to the clutch pedal.

I've searched the forums and found some info but not exaclty what I need.
Can the T5 cable setup be used or should/can I still use the 3spd OD from my truck now?
Thanks for any and all help you can give!

If you were not in a hurry, I would tear the truck down and see if the t5 tranny will mate to the old 300 six hydraulic bellhousing. The 300 and the 302 have the same bell pattern, but I am not sure on the tranny pattern or the spline count on the input shafts of the trannies.

I was just researching that same thing! It finally clicked. I need to get under the truck tomorrow and then check the pattern. Thanks for the reply!
