Well, our air is just about the same consistency right now. It just doesn't have the same, charming, greasy and chemical smell. At least with this I can almost imagine sitting around a campfire among friends and being stuck on the downwind side.

Our air will eventually clean itself, whereas the air in Mexico City is pretty much there for ever.

I work in South San Francisco (SSF). Today was a perfectly clear day, no smoke, smog, or fog by the afternoon. I could see across the bay to Oakland and Berkley and it was so clear, you could see individual buildings and even trees. The story changed though when I looked south. From the southwest, there was a big smoke cloud that stretched over San Jose and then went to the central valley. Even up north, in Vallejo, clear air, but when I look east, I see smoke filling the central valley. Hopefully the central valley will get a breath of fresh air soon.

We had a very and somewhat cool marine layer, then it cleared up.
There was, however, a lone foghorn, that sounded, even though it was clear out.
I heard that there were 1400+ fires in Ca.
That's insane.
