I have a set of 6x9's that I would like to install where the rear 5x7's are now. Would they fit without any serious modifications?. I would like to reinstall the ford speaker cover.

My 93 had factory rear speakers, and we replaced them with some cheap jensons, I would like to replace those with these pioneers.
In other words, it would go into the factory hole's.

On a 93 they should be 6x8's. I bought a set from summit racing and they crewed right to the factory grilles with no problems. Try the summit catalog or online (if they list them online). I think mine ran about $78 or close to that.
But the 6x8's will fit in the factory hole. The one's I have are specially made for Ford / Mazda. So I know they should fit.
1988 F-150 Custom to XLT Lariat conversion, 5.0 EFI (formerly 300 I6), 5-speed M5OD, 3.08 rear gears (will be upgraded to 3.55's), Summit headers, Flowmaster muffler W/ dual 3.5" tips 24" long. Caution Customizing in progress, Watch for flying tools & Parts!
I didn't get what truck you have, but I have a '94 f-150 and I took out the stock 5x7's or whatever that were mounted in the corner of the rear wall and was able to cram in a set of 6x9's. They fit and work, however I am finding that with the limited room in the space behind the shroud where the 6x9's are now crammed in, whew, the sound is kinda muffled. I think i am going to remove them and fab up a box behind the seat with more space and better acoustics.
go to autotoys.com they have adjustments that will decrease or enlarge ur speaker compartments they might have a 5x7 to 6x9. try them then get back to us.
