Hey Everyone!
I could use some help I am getting a little frustrated with my truck. It is a 99 Ford F 150 4x4 5.4l. I am having power issues, it just never seems to have as much power as it use to. I have done a lot to it already...I replaced the fuel filter, air filter, changed plugs and COP wires. I took apart the Throttle Body and cleaned it out and that didn't seem to help either. I ran sea foam through the vaccum line that connects to the brake booster. (local mechanic recomended??) I have ran premium, put in fuel additives you name it. I also checked the vaccum pressure and it seemed in line with specs. I checked the fuel pressure and that seemed right along with specs to. I have checked for codes and got nothing. I did the KOEO test and the KOER test and nothing. The only thing on this that looked a little out of place was the calc load, at idle it was about 30% and just touching the throttle it would go to 50%. I am not even sure what to do or where to go from here. All help is greatly appreciated.
Alex
If cleaning the MAF doesn't work check the cat. converter. I've run into this before where one or more would be plugged(partially or fully) And not set a check engine light. Just my 2cents
A good way to "check the cat. converter" to see if they're plugged is by using the lower hose off the EGR pipe to the DPFE to look for excessive exhaust backpressure. Unfortunately I don't recall the specs.
