hi all,
i would like some advice. im going to soon buy a mustang for a restoraton project but unfortunately its a non starter so im probably gonna need to put it on a trailer and tow it home. what i need to know is whether or not a F150/F250 would be up to the job of towing the trailer and also what size trailer will i need for a 1967 mustang?
I towed my first 67 mustang home on a dolly with a 1983 F-100 with a 300/4spd. I towed my second 67 mustang home on a 18' flatbed with a 1995 F-150 with a 302/5spd. I would have to say a 1/2 or 3/4 ton truck is up to the task. I would use at least a 16' flatbed, 14' might work but it could be tight.
I would even go with an 18" if you can. I towed my Mustang from the twin cities to Fargo this spring in a 24' enclosed with the 2000 Expedition. Your F-150 should handle it without a hiccup.
