When i bought my truck there was an EQ in the dash but did not work, now that the weather is much better i took the dash apart to see whats wrong.. its not hooked up and i cant see how it could be, the EQ is old, its a kenwood KGC 7400 it has 3 din plugs (1 female 2 male, the male ones are indicated front and rear, the female one hooks up to radio ??)
The radio i have is a clarion 8401RT, it has the common speaker wires (now hooked to 4 speakers - 2 right, 2 left) and it has 2 female RCA plugs (what are those for ?), i have no instruction manuals and dont know much about car stereos.
I would like to be able to use the EQ/amp, how should i set it up ? can i use the 2 RCA plugs to make it easier ? any comments/suggestions appreciated, please.. dont just reply to go buy a new radio! i'd love too but cant afford it right now :-(
Not being familiar with your EQ, I can't give you much help on the hook up. The 2 RCA hook ups coming from your deck are the low level inputs that you would use when hooking an amplifier up to your system. IF you look at an amplifier you would see that would be 2 female RCA connections.
