Aloha guys!
I cant seem to unplug the wiring connector from the original
coil .I'm replacing coil with a MSD unit.Is there a locking tab that holds it
in place or do I just grab it with my channel locks and YANK!!
Thanks in advance for any help.

If it's the rectangular shaped plug, there are two empty slots in the middle where I have used a pair of medium/toothed needle nose pliers to pull up gently, it should come right off. You didn't mention your year, I have/had 95 and 96. Yes, this plug was quite stuck on both my trucks I replaced coil on and used same method on both with no problems. Don't worry the new coil should "spark" things up a bit

There should be a clip on the bottom side that holds the connector on the coil.
