So unless you're a long time collector and an accredited car show judge like I am, with over 35 years of Ford parts experience tossed in...you can't say for certain what's right and what isn't.

So you're saying in a smog/pollution free area, rubber NEVER AGES???
while i'm still enjoying this thread... look how rusted the two bolts are in the thirteenth
(13) picture.
I suppose just those two bolts rusted, and nothing else aged? Oh, those and the hood hinges. The galvanized steel didn't oxidize even the slightest amount and fade/darken? The white plastic retainers on the ignition wires didn't yellow at all?

the engine rubber is all brand new
I'm happy that I could make you laugh....but without seeing it, neither you or I or anyone else can say it's a resto or not.
What I'm saying is if the rubber is protected, even with air pollution it has a better chance of surviving.
Galvanized steel fades with age, just look in your neighborhood at old metal garbage cans.
The truck has been professionally detailed through and through, but it's mostly original.
I've owned 100's of original cars/trucks since 1956, own two now ('39 Packard; '62 Bentley), just sold another...a 1968 Olds 88 HT w/40K actual.
The Olds put this truck to shame. It was never detailed, just maintained, and spent its entire life except for the past two yrs in hotty smoggy Van Nuys CA.
The rubber w/strips, cloth interior, paint and chrome were perfecto, because the older couple the car came from took very good care of it.
But if you saw pics of the Packard, Bentley or the Olds, you'd prolly come to the same conclusion you have with this truck.
Either way it is a nice truck. I can't see it selling for what he wants for it. I would be proud to own it even with the ugly stripes. The stripes on this truck are better than some that I have seen on the 70's model trucks.
You know why its on ebay and not for sale locally? Im from TN and I can tell you why. He would be the laughing stock of the whole *****ing state. $25,000?!?!?! I paid $3000 for a short bed 4x4 1978 with 63,000 that looks almost that good,(its orginally so its showing its age) and it didnt have those hideous headlight covers or paint job. Im saying it was an older person's around town baby, they had it restored or very detailed, they died, some one else got it cheap and is trying to make money. Just my two cents.

number one thing that is the stupidest thing that can ever be purchased for a truck besides fake plastic chrome door handle covers ( even though my truck has them) is those fricken fake hood scoops, ya that's cool you and every other riced out Honda has them, so your in good company, just pay the money and do it right.
Oh and i think the other truck is restored, nothing can stand the test of time that well, not the paint rubber, chrome. It had to be at least a mild restore IMO
