hey guys,
well i just pulled home another new truck.
its a 75 "high boy" dunno if its a true high boy or not. but it has the Divorce transfer case np 435 tranny and a 460.
i was dinking around with it just now and i put a battery in it and the coil was making a funny noise. what would cause this?
and ill try to get some pics of it later tonight or the next day.
thanks for the help.
Mitch
If the coil is going bad such as a crack in the top, they can loose their cooling oil and begin to fry inside and make strange noises. Make sure the coil wire is pushed in as far as possible this can cause a popping noise and overheat the coil.
Is the coil wired properly with the factory resistive wire setup; or has someone redone it and ran it to straight 12V? Does this happen all the time or just with the key on?
ya i figured it out last night. there was a wire hidding on me that was not connected. i put that on and she stoped and started givin me spark again.
and it only did it when the key was on.
thanks
Mitch
