hey did i tell you how i am running the fuel....I am filtering the fuel after the processing. I know everyone probably does that, but since i am not washing my fuel yet i just have been filtering it down with a 0.5 micron filter and then pump it right in the truck. My father is probably getting a 2000 F-350 with a 7.3, beautiful truck, but i am gonna wash and test the fuel before running it in that truck.

You cannot filter out dissolved Naoh or KOH. They are quite corrosive and will attack metalic parts of you fuel system.
You wont get residual glycerol witn a .5 micron filter, the molecule is smaller than the BD molecule so if the large one passes the smaller will obviously pass.
You wont get FFAs with a .5 micron filter they are about the same size as BD molecules.
You wont get residual water with a .5 micron filter.

Mix FFAs, water, and NaOH together - aggitate by driving and you get a fuel tank full of SOAP.

they are both a pain in their own respect, but dry wash (magnesol) is the way to go!

Well Ive seen different websites that sell it by the 50 lb. bag for about 80$ a bag....now that wouldnt be bad if you would only use a small amount of it for every batch. How much do you use for every gallon of fuel?, and do places like home depot sell it? But I think I know how its done, All I do is after I drain the glycerin out of my batch of fuel, I add however much magnesol I need in my processor and let it mix for a while, then just filter it out with a 1 micron absolute bag filter. Right? I am sure i am missing some information, but it does sound easier than messing with the water.

One more thing, I made about 3 small batches of fuel and they didnt come out yellow, more of a light brown. I am unable to see through it too. can you possibly tell me what i could be doing wrong? But it does still run in the truck...and it is unwashed.

without methanol recovery, you need to use 2% by volume. i.e. ~6 pounds of magnesol for 40 gallons of bio.

you are brave running that stuff in your truck now. sounds like you are not using the right amounts in your process.

the color difference is from different kinds of oil that you collect
not every batch of fuel will look the same
