I was just looking on ITP diesel's site and they have the air dog system for the 99-03 7.3's. My question is if that system could be put into one of our trucks? It seams like it would only help because it would take some of the load off of the mechanical pump, the system has a small pump on it that runs at 10-20 psi to the stock pump. Any insite is welcome.
I'm too lazy to look... is it just an air removal pump? if it is, worst thing that could happen is you'd have to do some creative mounting i would think.
Second opinion???
Well I didn't look to see what Dennis was selling either. But I have an AirDog 150 on the Dodge so I know how they work. They designed for a single tank system and return the air to the tank thru a seperate return line. If you were to do the 33 gallon bronco tank it should work ok. With the dual tanks I think you could return the fuel back to the stock return line before the selector valve so that the valve would return it to the tank you were running off. With only 15-20 lbs of fuel pressure you would still have to use another pump, either an electric SD or the low pressure side of the mechanical pump could be bypassed
ya i saw that a few weeks back when i was doing my fuel pump... then i saw the price and almost had a heart attack. Ive been told that it is well worth the money but with a price tag that heavy it wasnt something that i could pay for and have soon enough to get my truck back up and going. Maybe some day it will make it on there.
