Radio wiring issues
Iam trying to install a ipod in a buddies 2001 F150 with a stock single disc cd player. We are installing a Peripheral ipod interface. I am having problems with getting a good connection for the 12v power source. Tried splicing into one of the 12v sockets on the lower part of the dash, but it looks like the previous owner did a hack job install before and there is not enough wire to splice into. Does anyone know what color the 12v power source in the stock wiring harness is or a better way to get power.

Hot at all times (battery)for the radio is light green/violet on F1 a 15A fuse in the under dash fuse panel and hot in run or accessory (switched voltage) is black/pink on F8 a 5A fuse in the under dash fuse panel. Good luck!

Thanks for the help. Turns out, it was not the power connection. His cd player was not cd changer compatable. Found a stock tape player with cd changer controls at a online jukyards website that we are gonna ride and take a look at when we get off work in the morning. Which power wire would be best to splice into, the constant power of switched voltage?
