I am going to try and see if I can get the solenoid disenganged.
The cruise does not work either. I read in another post that someone had a similar issue with their excursion 'wallz' was his name, I am going to post over there to see what he may have had to do.
I replaced the switch (per the manual) and it worked fine for about an hour. Went out to eat, then when we went to leave the restaraunt it popped the fuse again and was stuck in park.
Im thinking I will just trade it in. It's not in bad shape and runs good, but the extended cab isnt big enough with my kids getting bigger.
isnt there a switch hooked to the brake pedel that cuts off the cruise too had a bronco blow the cruise switch and would not work the brake lights found it by acciedent so keep looking or trade it off let the dealer fix it
I read on another post that you can unplug the solenoid that keeps it from coming out of park, that once you unhook it, then it doesnt engage and lock it. Im going to try it tomorrow if it's not raining.
That makes sense about the cruise switch (disengaging the cruise). The bad thing is I saw there was a recall on the 01 models for this, but when I emailed ford I didnt even get a reply back.
I just asked them if they couldnt do anything, could they at least tell me what the fix was on the 01s. No Dice.
